MILITARY WIVES centers on a group of women from different backgrounds whose partners are away serving in Afghanistan. Faced with their loved ones’ absences, they come together to form the first military wives choir, helping each other through some of life’s most difficult moments, and quickly find themselves on an international stage. Peter Cattaneo (THE FULL MONTY) directs Kristin Scott Thomas and Sharon Horgan in this feel-good crowd-pleaser inspired by true events.

UK, 2019, 112 minutes, Rated PG-13, Directed by Peter Cattaneo

  • "Inspired by BBC television series 'The Choir,' director Peter Cattaneo's 'Military Wives' is every bit as briskly cheerful and modestly scaled as that real-life origin story suggests."

    —Danny Leigh, FINANCIAL TIMES
  • "The smiles, tears and toe-tapping are all conducted with military precision, but they do all hit the right note. A classic crowd-pleaser."

    —METRO (UK)
  • "Thoroughly British and uplifting."

    —Chris Hunneysett, DAILY MIRROR (UK)
  • "Gosh darn it, it's hard not to warm to a film that features an acapella version of Yazoo's 'Only You'...and Kristin Scott Thomas having a verbal cat fight in a parking lot."

    —Leslie Felperin, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
  • "A cheerfully treacly story of sisterhood, adversity overcome and music healing even the deepest wounds."

    —Ed Power, DAILY TELEGRAPH (UK)
  • "Succeeds in striking a pleasant balance between the frankly inspiring and the refreshingly humble...the women are brash and funny--in short, real."

    —Elena Lazic, CINEUROPA
