Mabul (The Flood)

Nominated for 6 Israeli Film Academy Awards including Best Film, Actor and Actress, and winner of Best Film and Best Cinematography at the Haifa Film Festival, MABUL (THE FLOOD) is an outstanding new family drama.  Everything is complicated in Yoni’s life. He’s almost 13, a gifted student, but physically underdeveloped and desperate to change that before his up-and-coming Bar Mitzvah.  His new classmates, a year older and two heads taller, bully him at every turn, and his parents barely say a word to each other.  As if all this isn’t enough, on the eve of Yoni’s ceremony, his 17-year-old autistic brother, Tomer, hidden away for a decade in an institution that’s about to be shut down, unexpectedly returns home and shakes the already unstable foundations of the entire dysfunctional Roshko family.
