Love, Gilda

In her own words, comedienne Gilda Radner reflects on her life and career. Weaving together her recently discovered audiotapes, interviews with friends (Chevy Chase, Lorne Michaels, Laraine Newman, Paul Shaffer and Martin Short), rare home movies and diaries read by modern-day comedians inspired by Gilda (Bill Hader, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph and Cecily Strong), LOVE, GILDA opens up a unique window into the honest and whimsical world of a beloved performer whose greatest role was sharing her story.

Canada | USA, 2018, 98 minutes, Not Rated, Directed by Lisa Dapolito

  • “Warm, tender, polished, fond and funny.”

  • “’Love, Gilda’ is a touching reminder of an iridescent star who shined brightly but for far too short a time. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll leave the theater wanting to dive down the YouTube rabbit hole of Gilda Radner.”

    – Brandon Katz, NEW YORK OBSERVER
  • “As a love letter to a talented and endearing soul, it's hard to fault ‘Love, Gilda.’ Like its subject, it feels remarkably honest and genuine.”

    – Randy Cordova, ARIZONA REPUBLIC
  • “A celebration of a performer who revolutionized comedy and inspired future generations.”

    – Al Alexander, THE PATRIOT LEDGER
  • “Forty years later, her comedy looks more sublime than ever. As you watch ‘Love, Gilda,’ though, it becomes clear that what made Gilda Radner special - and uproarious - was her spirit: open, smiling, generous, euphoric.”

    – Owen Gleiberman, VARIETY
