The Time Masters (4K Restoration)
New 4K Restoration! One week only!
Directed by visionary science-fiction animator René Laloux (Fantastic Planet) and designed by the legendary artist Mœbius (Alien, Jodorowsky’s Dune), The Time Masters is a visually fantastic foray into existentialist space adventure. After his parents are killed on the dangerous planet Perdide, young Piel survives by maintaining radio contact with Jaffar, a pilot transporting an exiled Prince and Princess from their former kingdom. With the help of Silbad, a cheerful old-timer who knows how to circumvent Perdide’s hazards, Jaffar embarks on a mission to retrieve Piel, traveling to wild planets and meeting creatures beyond imagination. Layered with existential queries and sublime animation, THE TIME MASTERS is not to be missed.

“The Time Masters continues to be a must-see classic in the sci-fi animation canon.”
– Amid Amidi, CARTOON BREW -
"Laloux’s concern for the integrity of natural wonders and their physical beauty is like a forecast of Hayao Miyazaki’s films, such as My Neighbor Totoro."
– Michael Barrett, POPMATTERS -
“Mœbius disturbs and consoles. He has the ability to transport us into unknown worlds where we encounter unsettling characters. My admiration for him is total. I consider him a great artist, as great as Picasso and Matisse.”
– Federico Fellini, DIRECTOR -
"Ahead of its time in its character depiction and theme that focuses on celebrating diversity, [The Time Masters] is heady with an unforgettable twist."
