Set in East Baltimore beginning in 2008, the Wings Video Skills film project follows a group of ten Black middle school girls filmed over a ten-year period, as they come of age and use media technology to document their lives and surroundings. Hailing from some of Baltimore’s most challenged neighborhoods, these young women have all the odds stacked against them, and they know it. Revealing high ideals and harsh realities, this ambitious work is intimate, emotional, and epic in scope.
