Born in July 1970 and raised in London, Christopher Nolan might be one of the most iconic “American” filmmakers. Using his dual birthright (his mother is American), he has stamped his signature worldview on a host of exceptional films over the past 22 years – in the process garnering himself 5 Oscar® nominations as a writer, director, and producer. Enzian proudly brings Nolan’s acclaimed Dark Knight Trilogy back to the big screen for one week only. Considered some of the greatest comic book adaptations of all time, the trio of films combined were nominated for 230 international awards, won 3 Oscars (including Heath Ledger’s iconic performance as The Joker), and made nearly $2.5 billion at the worldwide box office. They stand as a testament to a perfectly achieved cinematic vision.

Along with The Dark Knight Trilogy, Enzian will host a special 10th anniversary, one-night-only showcase of Nolan’s masterpiece, Inception (4 Oscars and 8 nominations), and later in August, a rare 35mm showing of his first feature film, Following (1998), will screen as part of our Cult Classics series. So, come out and celebrate one of the most acclaimed filmmakers of his generation.

Visionary filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s sequel to the highly successful “Batman Begins,” sees Batman (Christian Bale) as he raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker (Heath Ledger).
