Dolly Parton Tribute!
Some movies make you laugh. Some make you cry. Steel Magnolias does both, often in the same scene—and somehow makes it feel like the most natural thing in the world. Set in a small Louisiana beauty salon, this beloved tearjerker brings together an all-star cast including Sally Field, Julia Roberts, Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, and Daryl Hannah as a group of fiercely loyal women navigating love, loss, family and friendship.
And then there’s Dolly. As the warm, wise, and fabulously coiffed Truvy, Dolly Parton proved that her brand of humor, heart, larger-than-life charm, and glorious Southern drawl paired perfectly with the big screen. As we celebrate this special event, we raise a glass to the incomparable Dolly Parton: singer, songwriter, actress, philanthropist, icon, and one of the greatest human beings ever to rock a rhinestone gown. We will always love you, Queen.
Ticket proceeds from this event will be donated to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library through the Rotary Club of College Park Foundation, who has been an Imagination Library partner since 2012 and distributed more than 50,000 books to families in the area.

– Terry Orme, SALT LAKE TRIBUTE
“Steel Magnolias generates red-hot sparks from six major-league actresses and offers a virtual cornucopia of laughter and tears.”
– Jack Garner, GANNETT NEWS SERVICE
“The principal pleasure of the movie is in the ensemble work of the actresses, as they trade one-liners and zingers and stick together and dish the dirt. “
– Roger Ebert, CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
