Edge of Tomorrow (Live Die Repeat):

From blockbuster franchises with jaw-dropping professional stunt work to couch-jumping moments of personal surrealism, Tom Cruise remains one of cinema's last true movie stars.  But, in 2014 he delivered one of the smartest and most crowd-pleasing sci-fi films of the year only to see it fizzle at the domestic box office. Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Go), and adapted from Hiroshi Sakurazaka's acclaimed novel All You Need Is Kill by Christopher McQuarrie (Mission: Impossible, Top Gun: Maverick), the film pairs Cruise with Emily Blunt in a battle against extinction.

In the not-so-distant future, humanity is losing a devastating war against an unstoppable alien force known as the Mimics. Major William Cage (Cruise), a military public relations officer with no combat experience, is thrust onto the front lines only to find himself trapped in a time loop, reliving the same catastrophic battle over and over again. Teaming up with legendary soldier the “Angel of Verdun” (Blunt), Cage uses each repeated death as an opportunity to gain further insight into the invader’s deadly plans.

With brilliant supporting turns from Bill Paxton and Brendan Gleeson and a whip-smart screenplay, Edge of Tomorrow, found its audience on home video, quickly developing a passionate following which has since regarded it as a modern sci-fi classic. Combining the action spectacle of Saving Private Ryan and the dark humor of Groundhog Day, don’t miss this summer extravaganza free on the Enzian lawn!
