This wonderfully entertaining documentary is an immersive journey through the Catskills—once known as the Borscht Belt—that defined an era of Jewish American life. Throughout decades of prejudice stifling the integration of Jewish immigrants in America, this region provided an oasis of belonging, and Grossinger’s Resort and Hotel was the crown jewel. Resurrecting this vanished world with an immersive warmth, the film is a timely reminder of the historic richness of Jewish culture and its immeasurable contributions to American life.

This screening takes place at The Dome at the Orlando Science Center (777 E. Princeton St. Orlando, Florida 32803).

“A nostalgic look at the famed Catskills resort that helped inspire Dirty Dancing and reshaped Jewish American leisure culture. Not just a celebration of one family’s legacy, but of Jewish pride.”
