Part of Enzian’s 13+ Films of Halloween!
50th Anniversary!
Director Brian De Palma’s (CARRIE) deliciously campy rock opera take on “The Phantom of the Opera” celebrates 50 years of unhinged glory.
Evil record tycoon Swan (Oscar-nominated songwriter Paul Williams) has sold his soul to the devil for eternal youth. Swan’s current scheme is to steal the music and star singer (Jessica Harper, SUSPIRIA) from composer Winslow Leach (William Finley, SISTERS) to celebrate the opening of his rock palace, The Paradise. While trying to stop Swan, Leach is left horribly disfigured and takes refuge in the cavernous theater, hiding his mangled face beneath an eerie mask and planning gruesome vengeance upon all who have wronged him.
