Dicks: The Musical
SING ALONG VERSION FOR THE OCTOBER 27TH – NOVEMBER 2ND SHOWINGS!
Audience Award Winner: Midnight Madness, 2023 Toronto International Film Festival
Larry Charles (Borat, Seinfeld) conducts an uproarious musical-comedy riff on The Parent Trap that follows two self-obsessed businessmen (writers Aaron Jackson & Josh Sharp) who discover they’re long-lost identical twins and come together to plot the reunion of their eccentric divorced parents (Nathan Lane and Megan Mullally).
Dicks is a full-blown movie musical and it is proudly queer. Narrated by God (Bowen Yang) and adapted from a two-man stage show by Jackson and Sharp, who turn in memorably manic performances as the titular twinsome, in this all-singing, all-dancing madness that features Megan Thee Stallion domming worker drones as she lays down bars about how she “out-alphas the alphas” in her midst.
This movie is R rated and contains strong, crude, sexual content, nudity, and pervasive language.
2023, 86 Minutes, Rated R, Directed by Larry Charles
-
"Run, don’t walk to the theater. We may never see anything like it again."
- Gregory Ellwood, THE PLAYLIST -
“This twisted cross between ‘The Parent Trap’ and ‘Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy’ seems destined for cult status.”
– Peter Debruge, VARIETY -
"This creature from the wacko lagoon has ample obscenities, constant profanity, razzmatazz songs and dances. And, in my case, a lot of belly laughs."
- Johnny Oleksinski, NEW YORK POST -
"It’s tough to make a cult movie intentionally, but Jackson and Sharp seem to have done just that."
- Hillary Busis, VANITY FAIR -
“Gleefully silly."
– Kyle Buchanan, THE NEW YORK TIMES -
"I love, love, love this movie that dares to be this willfully stupid, gross, and gleefully outrageous."
- Kristy Puchko, MASHABLE
