Dazed and Confused, featuring Jason London

Jason London joins us at Enzian for a special screening of Dazed and Confused, featuring a post-film Q&A and Meet and Greet!

“All I’m saying is that if I ever start referring to these as the best years of my life – remind me to kill myself.” – Randall “Pink” Floyd

It’s May 28, 1976, the last day of the year at Robert E. Lee High School. Kids are skipping class, smoking weed, and thinking about the big keg party at Kevin Pickford’s (Shawn Andrews) house. High on the mind of star football quarterback Randall “Pink” Floyd (Jason London) is the pledge the coach wants all the returning players to sign, vowing that they won’t do drugs or drink during the summer break.  Pink is the only player who is holding out because he feels it infringes upon his individual rights. It’s also the traditional hazing day, where seniors traumatize incoming freshmen, among them Mitch Kramer (Wiley Wiggins). As day turns into night and as the keg party doesn’t end up quite as planned, we follow these teens on a course that might just redefine who they are, and who they will end up becoming. Like American Graffiti and Fast Times at Ridgemont High, 5-time Academy Award® nominee Richard Linklater’s (Boyhood, Before Sunrise) love letter to growing up in Central Texas in the 1970s is iconic for is soon-to-be-all-star cast including Matthew McConaughey, Milla Jovovich, Ben Afflack, Parker Posey, Cole Hauser, Joey Lauren Adams, Anthony Rapp, Adam Goldberg, Rory Cochrane, Renee Zellweger and many others.

Come out and celebrate as we welcome Jason London to Enzian to discuss this seminal coming of age film and his decades-long career.

After the screening Mr. London will be available for a meet and greet with guests.*

*No separate ticket needed for meet and greet.

1993, 103 minutes, USA, Directed by Richard Linklater, Rated R

  • “Linklater is a sly and formidable talent, bringing an anthropologist's eye to this spectacularly funny celebration of the rites of stupidity. His shitfaced "American Graffiti" is the ultimate party movie -- loud, crude, socially irresponsible and totally irresistible.”

    – Peter Travers, ROLLING STONE
  • “From the opening shot of a burnt-orange GTO cruising a high school parking lot to the strains of Aerosmith's ''Sweet Emotion,'' Richard Linklater's film nails mid-'70s adolescence so precisely that you'll need Clearasil by the end credits.”

    – Ty Burr, ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
  • “Every one of these characters is completely familiar and recognizable; so far this has held true for every viewer I have spoken with, whether they graduated from high school 25 years ago or last week.”

    – Marjorie Baumgarten, AUSTIN CHRONICLE
  • “Maybe the best movie ever made about American teenagers, casual and funny in a totally unique way.”

    – Blake Davis, FKOR CHANNEL 4 NEWS
