Corpse Bride:

***NOMINEE – Best Animated Feature – 2006 Academy Awards

If Beetlejuice taught us anything, it’s that Tim Burton’s version of the afterlife is a lot more eccentric than one might expect. While the living stumble through awkward dinner parties, arranged marriages, and suffocating Victorian etiquette, the Land of the Dead is bursting with jazz, color, and enough personality to make you wonder if crossing over might actually be an upgrade.

After the hopelessly nervous Victor (Johnny Depp) accidentally proposes to a long-dead bride (Helena Bonham Carter) while practicing his wedding vows in the woods, he's whisked away to an underworld where his new fiancée is thrilled to finally be getting married. Unfortunately, his very-much-alive bride-to-be (Emily Watson) is still waiting back home, forcing Victor to choose between two worlds, and two very different loves.

It wouldn’t be Halloween without a little goth romance! So, come out for a free screening under the stars with your blanket and reanimated bull terrier, and get ready for a film that suggests the grass might be greener on the other side of the cemetery.
