Science on Screen®
Intellectual engineers Aaron (Shane Carruth) and Abe (David Sullivan) build and sell error-checking technology with the help of their friends Robert (Casey Gooden) and Phillip (Anand Upadhyaya). But when Aaron and Abe accidentally invent what they think is a time machine, Abe builds a version capable of transporting a human and puts the device to the test. As the two friends obsess over their creation, they discover the dark consequences of their actions.
The film will be preceded by a presentation about the science behind the movie from Dr. Joshua Colwell from the Department of Physics at the University of Central Florida. After the screening there will be a Q&A with the audience. Dr. Colwell is the Assistant Director of the Florida Space Institute and served as the main astrophysics science advisor on the set of the film DEEP IMPACT. He hosts the astronomy podcast, “Walkabout the Galaxy”, and leads UCF’s Center for Microgravity Research. He’s experienced the weightless condition depicted in space exploration films through multiple flights on NASA’s infamous “vomit comet” weightless parabolic flights, and studies the origin and evolution of the solar system.
