Scarlett is a woman who can deal with a nation at war, Atlanta burning, the Union Army carrying off everything from her beloved Tara, the carpetbaggers who arrive after the war. Scarlett is beautiful. She has vitality. But Ashley, the man she has wanted for so long, is going to marry his placid cousin, Melanie. Mammy warns Scarlett to behave herself at the party at Twelve Oaks. There is a new man there that day, the day the Civil War begins. Rhett Butler. Step behind the scenes and celebrate the 75th anniversary of one of the most famous films in Hollywood history. The Orange County Regional History Center’s traveling exhibit, Gone With the Wind: Reel to Real, features more than 120 items from the film, including original costumes, scripts, screen tests, and scene props from August 16 – November 30, 2014. The exhibit showcases the Shaw-Tumblin collection, regarded as one of the largest private collections of Gone With the Wind memorabilia in the world.
