Jadoo preceded by Unravel
Southeast Premiere, 2nd US Showing!
In this delightful new comedy about food and family, two brothers who are both wonderful chefs have a catastrophic falling out. At the climax of their dispute they rip the family recipe book in half, one brother getting the starters and the other the main courses. They set up rival restaurants across the street from each other in Leicester, and spend the next twenty years trying to outdo one another. Though neither brother will admit it, they both know that they have never been completely successful. It will take a daughter to reunite them. She is planning her wedding and is determined that they will cook together. But can the men bury the hatchet without actually burying the kitchen knife? The opening film of the 2013 Berlin Film Festival Culinary Cinema section, JADOO is a heartfelt fusion of Anglo-India tradition and universal family values, liberally seasoned with laughs. Watch for the great Madhur Jaffrey as a judge in The Kings of Curry competition!
Tall tales, dreams, and stories are spun as discarded clothes from the West are literally unraveled a world away. Winner of the Grand Jury and Audience Awards for Best Short Film at the 2013 Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles.
