Central Florida Film Slam is an unrated, independent film showcase and competition open to all regional filmmakers and students. Showcase your own work or come see the work of other local filmmakers on the big screen at Enzian Theater!

Ari, an anxious teen with her head in the clouds, seeks advice from her friends on confessing her true feelings to her classmate turned friend.

Sacred Hands

Lyandrea, a queer Boricua painter, immerses themselves in their craft, revealing the quiet dedication behind each brushstroke. The film is a meditation on time, process, and the beauty of creation.

Blake Buried a Body

After Charlie kills a kayaker, his older brother, Blake, attempts to hide the body. Guilt soon consumes Blake, leading to surreal and nightmarish consequences beyond his control.

A Discovery of Uncommon Rabbits

Flora and the Cloud Maker

The Cloud Maker learns the value of rest through her sentient houseplant, Flora. The film’s purpose is to educate others about burnout and encourage self-care.

Submit your film for a chance to play the 2026 Florida Film Festival!

Audience members will select a film from each CFFS to win the Audience Award for that showcase. These fan favorite films will receive the opportunity to become a part of Enzian’s Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase or, for one lucky winner a year, direct acceptance into the Florida Film Festival’s New Florida Shorts program!

Filmmakers: CFFS is a showcase screening, with no laurels for acceptance or official awards. This preserves premiere status on your film for future festival screenings! 

In addition to playing the Enzian big screen, CFFS filmmakers and attendees will have access to information sessions and workshops highlighting filmmaking and festival essentials, including must-know festival information from the official Florida Film Festival programming team. Information and dates for these sessions will be posted on Enzian’s website and the Central Florida Film Slam Facebook group as they are announced.
